"An author and businesswoman, Baseerat Javed drew inspiration from her lively childhood in India, bringing to life many of the stories and myths that she heard from her grandmother growing up in Hyderabad. She currently lives in Virginia with her husband, a psychiatrist, and enjoys visits from her three adult children who are lawyers. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, running her Indian spices company, and playing with her grandchildren. I was born in India but of the 6 decades of my life only one (the best one of my childhood) was spent in India with my grandmother who was a great storyteller. And she loved cats as well and I guess that is where I get my love of both. Besides these 2 loves I am also very passionate about blending Indian spices to make my own spice blends which I am launching as a business soon. I am basically a creative person that loves to create. I am always into something weather it is gardening, making garlands for family function or sewing or making custom jewelry from India with gold and semi-precious stones. I also love blending Indian perfumes and creating great fragrances. About a year ago I created custom perfume for my son’s wedding and gave it to the 250 plus guests. I am still getting requests about it. So, this is my life constant creativity and pursuing it in all things beautiful. "  | |
