November 14, 2019 In a remarkable demonstration of solidarity and support, Mayor Celso G. Regencia personally handed over financial assistance amounting to PhP 3 million from the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Iligan City to the most affected municipalities and cities that suffered extensive damage due to the devastating earthquakes on October 16 and 29. The two consecutive earthquakes, which registered significant magnitudes, wreaked havoc in various parts of the region, leading to widespread destruction of infrastructure, displacement of communities, and loss of livelihoods. Recognizing the urgent need for intervention, the LGU of Iligan City swiftly mobilized resources to extend aid to the affected areas, ensuring that financial assistance reached those in dire need.
